Shimenawa - Japanese Style Wreath Class
Please join Jennifer in exploring the design elements of a Japanese style wreath that is traditionally displayed in the entry on New Year's Day.
Learn how to use Japanese design elements based on the Sogetsu School of Ikebana that emphasizes individual expression and mixed media using natural and found objects. We will inspire each other as we create a simple, elegant wreath for our entries!
Wreath forms,paper,foliage, seed pods and other items will be provided by the instructor. Please bring a glue gun and sticks, scissors, and any craft materials if you have them.

Spend the morning learning the secrets of floral design with innovative Seattle landscape and floral designer Jennifer Carlson. Learn how to arrange greens, flowers and seed pods from your garden in a casual cottage style bouquet. Each artist will create their own unique arrangement using seasonal organic flowers and foliage provided by Jennifer. Containers and handouts will be provided. Please bring pruning shears or floral scissors if you have them. Then, after a short break join Seattle watercolor artist Molly Hashimoto as she demonstrates a variety of flower painting techniques to help students find the best watercolor techniques to express the beauty of their arrangements as well as their own personal style.
